Learn more about hidden biodiversity of the snail family Hydrobiidae in the area of Trebišnjica river and other parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a part of the CEPF founded project “Rasprostranjenost, populacija i status prijetnji za biološku raznolikost slatkovodnih puževa familije Hydrobiidae” that is run by the Center for Karst and Speleology. In the project we are trying to fill a large knowledge gap on Hydrobiidae, a snail family most often found at karstic springs. We are performing targeted sampling on KBA areas (key areas of biodiversity), gathering and presenting information on species distribution and revising species conservation status. Providing information on sites, important for conservation, will help decision-makers and will raise awareness about the importance of protecting underground environments.
