As part of the SubBIOCODE internship, Rok Kostanjšek took the time to demonstrate the impressive possibilities of micro CT to Džana and Miroslav by ‘slicing’ one of his favorite research objects. By using its power they managed to see different tissues, including muscles, glands and bones, that compose Proteus’s body.

After that, we paid a visit to Notranjska Museum Postojna, where Slavko Polak gave a short introduction on the subterranean Leiodidae beetles from Bosnia and Hercegovina to Miroslav. We were stunned by the differences of what, at first sight, seemed like ‘they all look alike’ Parapropus beetles. To conclude the day we also visited Karst Research Institute ZRC SAZU where Franjo Drole showed us how the National Cave Registry is functioning.
