On Monday, 11th October 2021, we had a meeting in Banja Luka with representatives of the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage of the Republic of Srpska. It was a great pleasure to finally meet Mrs. Ana Ćurić from the Institute and her colleague Dr. Vladimir Stupar from the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Banja Luka. We talked about the SubBIOCODE project and the database interface for the distribution of subterranean fauna in the Trebišnjica river basin (to be launched soon). The Institute has developed its own platform with nature conservation data for the public, Information system for Nature Conservation of the Republic of Srpska.
We also talked about many other activities, including the presentation of another project SubBioLab is involved in, LIFE Narcis. Some very interesting ideas for cooperation were discussed, because we have a common goal – the protection of the amazing subterranean natural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
